Bruce Carter, is one of the founders of the Liberty system. already 658 years old, Bruce had started his life as a normal human on the metropolis world of Kitachi-has(VII) but his childhood was quickly disturbed by the assasination of his parents, and he was taken in by his diplomat uncle. With him, Bruce learned the art of diplomacy, and was trained in droid engineering. as his uncle became sick, Bruce could not cope with seeeing a loved one die again, and decided to start a new life in the imperial navy. with his steady personality and technical genius, Bruce rapidly raised through the ranks, and at 36 was already commander of an entire battle group.

Unfortunatly for him, events would turn his life upside down. as commander of the battle group Achilles, he was ordered by the sector commander to investigate disturbances in the forbos III system. as it happened, the disturbances were in fact slaves of the empire who had taken over the three habitable planets. As he learnt of the true practices of the empire Bruce was torn in two. In one hand he had his whole life in the navy, and in the other, the right thing to do.

Trusted by his men, he decided to come clean with them and tell the entire crew that he was about to desert and why. the battle group was split. some wanted to stay to help the people of Forbos III and forsake the navy, while some wanted to return to their positions. With the consent of all the crews, it was decided that Four of the eleven ships should remain with all the defectors, and that the rest should return with news that the entire system had been devastated in the struggle for supremacy.

The Empire's high command did not notice any foulplay, and to this day, they believe that the rebel heart ground of Forbos III is destroyed. However it would not be as easy for Bruce. Striken by desillusion of the navy and the empire, he gave a final farewell to his loyal troops who had now joined the rebellion, leaving them under the command of his dear friend, Marcus Corellia.

For twenty years, he roamed his galaxy with his sidekick he had built himself, RED, a droid programmed to be both companion and colleague.

This time was, However, very productive, and at only sixty, bruce built the Libertytech Corporation from the money he had amassed during his travels. This corporation would be the base for Liberty. The first challenge would be that of entirely regenerating his body from nano technology. From this challenge, many technologies were developed, of which only a few were revealed to the public. Of those that were, the company made a fortune, and at only fifty, (with the body of a nanoaugmented thirty year old) the company was galactic leader of regenarive nanocures, and quite amazingly, had head offices with only twenty employees, since only trusted designers were allowed to work on the nano programs. And all were created through automated manufacturing which Libertytech pioneered, and soon, enough resources were developed to create an entire system around a lone star. By using revolutionary gravitational torpedoes, the debris field was turned into a planetary system winthin a century and the now 200 year old Bruce Carter started colonising the planet of Liberty.

Since this day, Liberty has never stopped being a safe place for all those who despise the empire, and has never failed to supply the rebels with much needed medical supplies.

After a long period during which liberty settled itself in the galaxy, the people of liberty looked further, and decided to research the possibility of a warphole drive to develop outside of the cramped galaxy they were in. And so Bruce Carter was appointed to command the ship equiped with the prototype drive. As it happened, it wasn't the wisest career move...

RED is a custom build droid. his exterior is in fact the shell of a 'PD Lurrian Protocol Droid' which has been repainted white. in fact, his shell was only added recently, whenhe decided that his old armour was not 'aestetically pleasing'. His interior buildup, However, is far from conventional. Sporting Military grade armour and components, and inter-linked parallel artificial intelligence positronic matrixes, he is in fact quite revolutionary! Red himself has now become his own mechanical technician, repairing and upgrading himself over several years, until he supports hidden weapons, nonstandard compartment which he uses as pockets and a host of other things.
