Final Fantasy 6

Final Fantasy 6, released 1994 (Japan and America), unfortunately did not get an official European release until 2002. Since this was the last game on the old 16 bit systems, this really showed some good graphics (for the SNES). Despite the fact it did not get a European release it did however reach a very high sales figure.

Final Fantasy 6, is set in a world still getting over the destruction caused by the War of Magi, caused a 1000 years before! The world is now a world built on the backbone of technology, however the game you come to relise that Magi (name given to magic in the game), is slowly leaking back into the world. The Empire are trying to use the Magi of the Espers, to bring Magi back into the world, to conquer all of the world. The game starts with two Empire Soldiers Biggs and Wedge, who are taking a brainwashed Terra, to find an Esper. When she gets to the Esper she has an unusual reaction and breaks free of her captors. In the game you take control of a former Empire Slave Terra, "Treasure Hunter" Locke ("I prefer the term Treasure Hunter."-when called a Thief), and a handful of the surviving Rebels, as they fight to stop the empires evil plot. In my opinion this is probably the best story in the final fantasy series, and in some ways depressing, as Kefka destroys the barriers holding magi back, and causes massive destruction to the world, about half way through the game. Which brings me to the bad guy, named Kefka, who turns out is using the Empire, to gain the full power of Magi.
