Infinite Empire

The Infinite Empire was a massive empire formed by the Rakata, some 49000 years BBY. The Rakata had a great technological advantage, and used this to colonise many planets, and eventually, at its height, this empire contained over 500 planets. It is estimated there was aproximately ten billion Rakata living at this time, but there was over a trillion slaves - the Rakata being a supporter of slavery.

The Rakata and the Infinite Empire were known for other war crimes other than slavery, including aggresive wars and literally chaning planet's ecosystems using their terraforming machinery. Two of the planets affected by the Rakata's technology were Tatooine, which was converted into a desert planet, and Kashyyyk, where the malfunctioning equipment meant the wildlife grew rampant. However, the empire fell in the midst of a civil war, and a plague that had affected only the Rakata themselves. The empire ceased to be about 28,000 years BBY.
