'Nar Shaddaa, more commonly known as the Smuggler's Moon, is the biggest moon in orbit of the planet of Nal Hutta. It is compared to Coruscant, only in the fact that the complete surface is covered with buildings and ports.

The Hutts originally left their homeplanet, Varl, to move to Nal Hutta. They forcedly reloacted the original species of the planet, the Evocii to the moon, but eventually, the Hutts increased, and grew the need for a spaceport on the moon. They used the Evocii as slaves to create massive starports, some of which expanded into orbit. Massive cities grew around these ports, and soon the planet's only possible direction was to expand upwards, leaving the lower levels beyond repair, which became havens for the lower lifeforms, such as the descendant's of the Evocii. Soon, the planet's criminal activities spiralled out of control, and it wasn't long before absolutely anything could be done freely on the planet, which made it a haven for bounty hunters.

Approximately 20 years ABY, the moon was destroyed by the Yuuzhan Vong.
